About Alice A. Rose

Alice A. Rose was introduced to the autoharp in the second grade. Since those 30 odd years ago, Alice has sung in award winning choirs, played in bands and orchestras, and learned various instruments along the way. It wasn’t until the pandemic that Alice acquired her first autoharp. During that time, Alice discovered the beautiful playing of Jo Ann Smith through her YouTube videos, and was then lucky enough to acquire her expertise over Skype. Alice has now been playing for nearly 4 years—practicing a few hours a day.

A visual designer by trade, Alice had a vision as to what she wanted her autoharp to sound and look like, and designed her first 2-key diatonic that she had commissioned by expert luthier Tom Fladmark. After that, she was hooked, and acquired her second 2-key diatonic the following summer. In November of 2022, Alice received her third 'harp from Tom—a single-key diatonic.

Alice is currently enjoying posting to her TikTok page, @vintagealicerose, where she posts covers, originals, and tutorials. Come say hi!

AutoharpMusic.co

Alice started this site because she was having to add in information to music intended for other instruments. Most music seemed to be missing intermediary notes and chords which allows the autoharpist to pick the melody, not just strum chords.

So AutoharpMusic.co was born to share the transcribing Alice was already doing for her own playing.
